We appreciate your interest in Partners Golf Trail. We ask that before you become a member and participate in any of our events, you read and agree to abide by all rules and regulations outlined below.

Handicap System and Scoring
Players will be pre-flighted based upon the lowest team member’s handicap. PGT encourages all members to have an official USGA GHIN. If a team’s lowest handicap member has only a stated handicap, they will be limited to 70% of their stated handicap for the first event and subject to change thereafter. Please see question 3 under FAQ’s for an example and further information.
Once teams are flighted, only their gross score will count.
The flights are as follows:

Championship flight – 0 – 5
1st flight – 6 – 10
2nd flight – 11 – 15
3rd flight – 16 and above

Payouts will be based on the number of teams per flight per event. We anticipate paying back approximately 80% (after green fees) per flight and $1,000 per flight winner based on a full field and equal teams per flight.

Example: For said event, there are 20 teams in the first flight and 10 teams in the second flight. In this scenario, the 1st flight would have higher payouts than the second flight since there were more teams competing in that flight.  This can and will fluctuate from event to event but ensures appropriate payout based on entries per flight

Conduct Policy
Partners Golf Trail will not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct and can result in the removal from a tournament. Examples of such conduct include:

  • Cheating of any kind
  • Throwing clubs
  • Excessively loud or distracting behavior
  • Using foul language, threats or derogatory comments towards other players, host golf course staff, or PGT employees
  • Repeat no shows or withdrawals
  • Inappropriate golf attire

Dress
All players must wear collared golf shirts. No denim shorts, tank-tops, or swimsuits allowed. All courses we play are soft-spike facilities.

Inclement Weather Policy
PGT and/or the host facility reserve the right to shorten or end any event due to weather or other events warranting such action.

Pace of Play
PGT will not tolerate excessively slow play and will work with the hosting course to ensure that all participants are maintaining an appropriate pace of play. Our goal is to complete each round in 4.5 hours, an average of 15 minutes per hole. If a group falls behind the group they are following by more than 10 minutes, they will be issued a warning. If the group is still behind after 2 additional holes, they may be penalized 2 shots for each hole they remain more than 10 minutes behind.

Other Tournament Information
All players must complete a tournament entry application.

Each team must exchange score cards with th other team on the first hole of play. Each team is responsible for keeping the other team's score and both must sign at the end of the round. If there should be any occasion where there is only one 2-person team playing together, PGT will provide a representative to follow that group and keep their score.

PGT will recognize seniors age 60 and above and will allow play from senior tees. All other contestants, including women and juniors, will play from their respective tees listed on paring sheets.

White stakes are out of bounds and you must replay your ball from where the stroke was taken. Provisional shots should be played if you think your ball may be out of bounds.

Players should not move, talk, or purposefully distract other players while they are addressing their ball or swinging.

Smoking is discouraged but if you smoke, please be courteous and mindful not to directly expose other players to smoke.

In the event of a tie, we will have a scorecard playoff beginning with the #1 handicap hole and continue that process until the tie is broken. If we still have a tie after the scorecard playoff, it will be considered a tie and monies will be allocated accordingly. Example: There is a tie for 2nd place between 3 teams and after the scorecard playoff there are two teams that are tied. In that scenario, we would divide 2nd and 3rd place monies and pay out equally among the two teams.

Any potential rules violations should be brought to the attention of PGT staff. PGT board members will investigate and make a ruling as soon as possible.

Equipment
Rangefinders and GPS equipment may be used in tournament play. All equipment, clubs, and balls must be legal for USGA standards. PGT reserves the right to check participants' equipment at any time during the event.
